Our History

The Gingerbread Man was established in 1990 by Ron Kaye, a builder who specialized in restoration of old victorian homes in the Gold Country of Northern California. Over the years the companies reputation for quality and innovative workmanship grew to a national level. The company was purchased by Ron's stepson and two other partners in 2002 and the company continued to grow and prosper.

In 2010 John C. Kohaut Inc, a family owned woodworking concern for over 120 years purchased the assets of Gingerbread Man, and now owns and operates it along with two additional subsidiaries: Kohaut & Company, a specialty woodturning company, and Reclaimed Wood Products Co.

Our goal is to be able to offer the finest in architectural wood products, and become your first choice for specialty wood products. For over 4 generations our commitment has been the same. "If anyone can do it, Kohaut can". We look forward to opportunity to show you what we can do for you.
